The Changi Museum – number one again!

The Changi Museum, another museum run by the Singapore History Consultants (the private heritage consultancy that runs the Battlebox), recently won top spot in TripAdvisor’s 2016 Travellers’ Choice Award for the Top 10 Museums in Singapore!

This is the second year in a row Changi Museum has become the #1 Museum in Singapore under TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award.

The Changi Museum is also the only winner from Singapore to be featured in the Asia list for 2016. It is ranked 16th in Asia, moving up five spots from its previous ranking of #21 in Asia last year.

Well done Changi Museum!

Visitors to the Battlebox are encouraged to visit the Changi Museum afterward, because while the Battlebox focuses on the causes of the defeat of Singapore during WWII, the Changi Museum carries on the story from the surrender of Singapore, focusing on the stories of the POWs from 1942 to 1945 and beyond.

We are constantly working hard to improve the Battlebox experience and acquire fresh artefacts, archival material and wartime accounts, in order to attain more information about the Battlebox during WWII, and also to better tell the story of how and why Singapore fell in 1942.

If you have anything to contribute or share with us, be it original artefacts, old documents or wartime experiences, please email the Battlebox research team at, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you very much!
